Our House matcha is a rare hand harvested, single-cultivar matcha that has been grown + ground on a single estate small farm in the Yame region of Kyushu Island in southern Japan.  Being shade grown, it has the prized characteristic of a sweet and savory flavor profile with flavor notes of creamy edamame, toasted sesame + chestnuts!

Made from the Yabukita cultivar, one of the most widely and robust cultivars grown in Japan today, the farmer and producer Mrs. Chisako Mizota, has been cultivating tea for the past 60 years and continues to pass this heritage down to her grandchildren.

Perfect for anyone that is new to matcha, this selection is suitable for both cooking and drinking.

*Note: using a bamboo chasen whisk is the best way to achieve a frothy matcha!

Approximate ratio:
2g / 1tsp | 4oz H2O | 176°F

Approx. 15-20 servings

Store airtight in a cool, dark location. Best within 3-4 weeks after opening for maximum freshness.

My Daily Ritual

The name Ceremonial House is fitting and the realization of this hit me as I found myself each afternoon carving out time for my own ritual in preparing our matcha tea. I purchased the bamboo whisk along with the matcha and love the process of whisking it into a fine powder before adding the hot water. The fine powder itself is the highest quality I've ever tasted. During Covid, we have been fortunate to spend more time in the mountains, and each afternoon would warm our souls up with hot steaming matcha tea. Sometimes, we sweeten it up and use the Valerie Bertinelli latte recipe (found online) by adding a touch of cinnamon, dash of turmeric, protein powder and steamed almond milk. While home in Los Angeles, we make it over ice. All the variations rather hot or cold is our afternoon delight that we look forward to each day.

Excellent Tea, Good Price and Fast Delivery

The Macha was the best I’ve had. So much better than store junk - for the first time, except at top Japanese restaurants, I really liked it. It’s great to be able to experience this taste at home. I’ll be a regular!
