Our House matcha is a rare hand harvested, single-cultivar matcha that has been grown + ground on a single estate small farm in the Yame region of Kyushu Island in southern Japan. Being shade grown, it has the prized characteristic of a sweet and savory flavor profile with flavor notes of creamy edamame, toasted sesame + chestnuts!
Made from the Yabukita cultivar, one of the most widely and robust cultivars grown in Japan today, the farmer and producer Mrs. Chisako Mizota, has been cultivating tea for the past 60 years and continues to pass this heritage down to her grandchildren.
Perfect for anyone that is new to matcha, this selection is suitable for both cooking and drinking.
*Note: using a bamboo chasen whisk is the best way to achieve a frothy matcha!

The aftertaste mild with just enough of that umami sweetness. Very smooth and not bitter at all. I enjoy drinking it without adding any juices or latte. It has a very satisfying finish.
I loved Matchalo's matcha. I wasn't sure what to expect, but trust me folks, this matcha is no ordinary matcha. The fine, veridian powder, the invigorating taste, the rich culinary tradition- it screams umami. I was sold from the first sip. Thank you so much, Matchalo! -Serena B.
I’m having a great experience with the product. It’s such a wonderful way to start my day and the quality is top notch.
Loved the product. Fast shipping!
This matcha is quite good and I reordered. I also love the matcha bowl I bought last time. I preferred the old packaging in the zipper-ish bag verses the tin but wouldn’t prevent me from repurchasing. The new packaging is cute with the tin but I preferred the ease of the zipper pouch verses emptying the inner bag into the tin.
