The bamboo chasen whisk is an essential and ideal tool for preparing a rich, frothy matcha the traditional way! Artfully crafted, the chasen is an integral tool in the chanoyu, or Japanese tea ceremony. Hand carved from a single piece of bamboo, this chasen has 80 bristles which is the usual number for an everyday whisk that produces a good level of frothiness.
To use: Simply move the whisk in a brisk back and forth motion for about one minute until the matcha becomes rich, creamy and frothy.
Tip: A dry whisk becomes brittle and easier to break, therefore we recommend wetting the whisk just before use.
It is fun to use the whisk made from Japanese bamboo. It feels authentic to use bamboo instead a usual kitchen tool. Love my whisk!
